What it was

La Femme Fight Night was a women's boxing event in Milwaukee, an all-women card on October 10, 2026, at Gather at Deer District. We co-hosted it with two Milwaukee partners, SheWolf and CounterCulture, and it sold out.

We want to be clear about the credit. This wasn't a STRENGTH IN THE CITY event with partner logos added on. It was three groups putting one night together.

Why boxing

Boxing shows up a lot in what we do. You'll see boxing moves in outdoor classes at our festivals, and one of our signature nights in Chicago is a charity fight. La Femme Fight Night brought that energy to Milwaukee, with women on every fight of the card.

Milwaukee and STRENGTH IN THE CITY

Milwaukee has been part of the tour before. We held a festival there on September 6, 2025, and one of the quotes we still come back to is from Jared, a Milwaukee fitness enthusiast: "I think that one of the things I am looking forward to most is a community that is going to be brought together through this wellness fest because everyone here is coming with a common goal in mind, trying to figure out what wellness looks like for them."

We think that line works for a fight night too.

Is there another one?

Nothing is announced yet. If La Femme Fight Night comes back, or another Milwaukee event goes on sale, it will be on our home page calendar and in our events list. We won't post a date until there's a real one.

Getting into boxing as a woman

A lot of people leave a night like this thinking, could I do that? Probably more than you think. A few honest starting points:

  • Start with a fitness boxing class. Bag work and pad work, no sparring. You learn the stance and the basic punches without anyone hitting back.
  • Get your own hand wraps. They are cheap and they protect your wrists. Gloves can wait until you know you'll stick with it.
  • Find a gym that has women training. Walk in, watch a class, ask who coaches the beginners. A good gym won't mind.
  • Sparring is optional. Plenty of people box for years and never fight. If you do want to compete one day, a coach will tell you when you're ready.

Other ways to compete with us

Not everyone wants to step into a ring. If you like the idea of competing with other people on your side, look at STRENGTH Showdown, our team fitness competition for teams of four. If you'd rather meet people without a scoreboard, our fitness pop-ups and socials are the easy way in.

And if you want the big day out, the fitness festival tour page shows every city we've visited.

The Chicago fight night

If you like what happened in Milwaukee, Chicago has its own version, with a different format. Rebels for a Cause is a black-tie charity fight night where people from Chicago's hospitality scene train for three months and then box on a real card. Most of them have never boxed before. The next one is January 28, 2027, at Experience 113 in the West Loop.
