What it is
Strength en Nosotros is our Latino fitness event, and yes, the name is half English and half Spanish. Latinx instructors taught the classes, and the money raised went to Palenque LSNA.
Our community is not one thing. Chicago and Los Angeles both have large Latino communities, and Strength en Nosotros put Latinx instructors at the front of the room.
The 2026 dates
- Chicago, May 3, 2026. On the Chicago Riverwalk.
- Los Angeles, May 31, 2026. At The Corner Slice.
Both happened in May, about four weeks apart. Nothing is announced for 2027 yet.
What was in it
Classes led by Latinx instructors, the community side we build into everything, and a sauna session. Recovery isn't something everyone expects at a workout event. If that sounds good to you, read about our recovery events.
Where the money went
Proceeds from Strength en Nosotros went to Palenque LSNA. We like it when the money from an event stays close to the people who came.
Why representation in fitness matters
Anyone who has been the only person in a class who looks like them knows the feeling, and knows it makes going back harder. When the teacher shares your background, or switches into your language between sets, something loosens up. You stop thinking about whether you belong and you start thinking about the workout. That's not a small thing.
People come back to the instructors and the groups that make them feel at home. Strength en Nosotros was a way to make that the whole point of the day instead of a lucky accident.
The two places
In Chicago, Strength en Nosotros was held on the Chicago Riverwalk, the same stretch of river where we ran Sunset Reset in April 2026. Being outside in the middle of the city, by the water, is a big part of why the Riverwalk works for us.
In Los Angeles it was at The Corner Slice. LA is one of our regular festival cities: we held a festival there in October 2025, and again on October 17, 2026, at Academy LA.
Bring your family
Strength en Nosotros is the kind of day you can bring your mom to. Most of our events welcome all ages, and anything with an age limit says so on its listing ahead of time. Classes have easier options, so every level can take part.
